Part 1

Posted on Apr 21, 2014

In this first installment I discuss armor inventory and go over the parts I have. I also talk about the tools needed for assembly and what stormtrooper I am going to build. This series will be several months long and in serious detail, so grab some popcorn or follow along as we build this set of Stormtrooper Armor together.

Shins – In this installment of Assembling Accurate Stormtrooper Armor I tackle the shins. First I explain what tools we’ll need and then I explain the differences between the left and right shins as well as the knee plates for TK (regular stormtrooper) and TD (Sandtrooper). Finally during assembly I discuss the two different techniques for the shins. I cover both the accurate “eye hook” method as well as the more popular but inaccurate velcro method.

Torso – In this segment I attach wire brackets to the torso, chest, ab, kidney, and butt plates. I do have to say that my computer crashed during the previous filming and some information has been lost. I have included everything I can here, but if you have any questions you can email me at trooper@trooperbay.com and I will answer.

Part 6.5

In this segment I finish off the torso assembly with the addition of the canvas belt. I had thought that I lost this part but found it recently. Thats why this segment is called “6.5″.

In this segment I make the belt that the thighs hang from under the armor. I also attach the elastic 3 inch wide bands to the thighs and talk about sewing them for proper fit. I have included everything I can here, but if you have any questions you can email me at trooper@trooperbay.com and I will answer.

Part 9

In this last segment, I weather the armor and make the finishing touches for MEPD deployment and SWAT. We wanted to make the Move Along trooper from Star Wars and I think it came out pretty nice. I have included everything I can here, but if you have any questions you can email me at trooper@trooperbay.com and I will answer.
